Fallen at the first hurdle…
Ugh. so, here’s me wanting to write fic about non sexual dynamics only to find that all of a sudden there is much leching and groping and dirty talking in this one. Heh.
Fiction: Dynamics Pt. I
The first instalment of this Dynamics series is told by Sven. I’m hoping to focus on their relationship away from the sex and flesh out their backgrounds a little more. Hopefully, you may enjoy it too. It’s about sub drop.
Eep! The first part of the fleshing out experiment is nearly done. This week, I will be writing an entire clutch of Sven and Mimi stories that are based around day to day dynamics.
There will be little to no sex in these stories as I want to focus on the everyday of the characters. Dorky moments, sad moments, boring moments, moments of compromise and awkward honesty. Arguments. All of these things which make up a real relationship.
I hope it works as romance too. Everything is crossed.

Yep. As part of the blogiversary Lipstick and Ligature has teamed up with Unrepentant Fatty to compile something of a kinky research project.
The idea is that we need kinky people (that would be you) to send us the ten things that you look for in a submissive partner if you’re a dominant woman or in a dominant partner if you’re a submissive man. UF is taking the submissive men’s answers and I’ll be looking at the answers of dominant women. Then we were hoping to do a little comparing and contrasting about the results.

Sex Story: Fifty Shades of Grey
I was going to totally ignore this documentary which aired on Channel 4 last night. However, according to the tv guide, there was a section in which an actual kinky couple were interviewed so I thought I’d watch it to see what they said. And, by god, they were the most brilliant, normal couple ever. No dark and foreboding cliches here, merely a comfy slice of suburbia. They quite obviously loved each other to pieces and found the story of FSOG totally ridiculous. They’re clearly in a healthy, happy marriage and their explanation of what BDSM actually means to them is great because it emphasizes happiness, fun and safety. Their interview is between 25:00-29:44.
I was also super impressed by Cathy Lette’s awesome analysis and Ninia Benjamin was hilarious, as ever. Then Rachel Johnson, sister of London mayor Boris, gave maybe the best explanation of why this book was so wrong. I literally applauded as she noted that;
” I wish that there could have been another book that the entire female population of this country (the uk) was reading, that had some literary merit, that had some soul to it, that didn’t tell everybody a lie about what women want and what women are turned on by. This book is a complete fiction and just panders to a woman’s desire to be looked after by a rich man which I think is regrettable on every level. Oh god, it’s so awful.”
YES RACHEL. YES. EXACTLY.
But yes, really I only put this up because I was so excited by the presence of a happy, well adjusted, married couple who also happened to be in a D/s relationship in mainstream media. Yes they were M/f and not F/m but it’s a start, that’s for sure.
